Monach Meadows - the Alpine Larch were just starting to turn gold. Unlike most coniferous trees, these ones loose their needles every fall, just like leaves.These are the oldest trees in North America, dating back over 2000 years. Although there are patches of these trees found in the Alberta Rockies, the only ones in BC are in Manning Park which is the Canadian extension of the North Cascade range. These Larch only exist over 2000m and Mt.Frosty, at around 2400m - is the highest peak in Manning.

I went up Wedgemount last Sunday... it was a completely perfect day.
